2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Lightning's trade for Bjorkstrand was not just a rental -- he's under contract for one more year. The winger clicked with his new team after being acquired from the Kraken, posting nine points over 18 games following the trade, though he didn't feature in the playoffs after undergoing surgery to address compartment syndrome stemming from a lower-body injury. This casts a little bit of risk into his fantasy profile for the early part of the 2025-26 campaign, as it's unclear if he'll be ready for training camp. Once healthy, he's a lock for middle-six minutes and power-play time with the Lightning. He's topped the 50-point mark in two of the last four seasons, so the 30-year-old should have a realistic chance at racking up 20-plus goals and 50-60 points if he's able to play a full campaign in a stronger offense. Puts away power-play tally
Bjorkstrand scored a power-play goal on two shots, added two hits and went minus-2 in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Capitals.
ANALYSIS
Bjorkstrand scored the go-ahead goal at 5:21 of the second period, and the Lightning were able to grow and maintain their lead from there. The 30-year-old winger hadn't scored since Opening Night versus the Senators. He has heated up recently with four assists over his last eight outings. For the season, Bjorkstrand is at two goals, eight points (four on the power play), 36 shots on net, 20 hits, 13 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 21 contests. He's been in a middle-six role but could get promoted to a more prominent spot if Nikita Kucherov (undisclosed) is unable to play Monday versus the Flyers.

The man they call 'The Maestro' in Seattle had a memorable second campaign with the Kraken. Bjorkstrand racked up 20 goals while setting career highs in both total points (59) and power-play points (25). The team's poor defensive play left him with a minus-20 rating, but he held steady in a middle-six role throughout the campaign. Bjorkstrand doesn't offer much outside of scoring, but he should still be a factor on the Kraken's power play in 2024-25. Where he lines up will be of more intrigue -- new head coach Dan Bylsma could go in a number of directions since few of the Kraken's forward combinations found success last year. Bjorkstrand was most often with Yanni Gourde, but skating alongside a playmaker like Chandler Stephenson could afford him more chances to push for his first 60-point campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might be dealt to Tampa Bay
Bjorkstrand might be involved in a trade from Seattle to Tampa Bay, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Bjorkstrand has 16 goals and 37 points over 61 appearances in 2024-25. He would provide the Lightning with some extra middle-six scoring depth, and his five-year, $27 million contract runs through 2025-26, so Bjorkstrand would be more than just a rental.
