Dorofeyev was one of the league’s breakout surprises in 2024-25 -- he led the Golden Knights with 35 goals (13 on the power play) and added 17 assists, good for the fifth-highest point total on the team. The left-shot winger’s 16:32 of ice time was a notable increase from the 13:17 he averaged in 2023-24, so he clearly earned trust on both ends of the ice. Dorofeyev also paced the team by a considerable margin with 254 shots on goal. Considering his usage in a top-six role and on the top power-play combination, Dorofeyev has the tools to be a consistent 30-goal scorer but has yet to consistently rack up assists. Unless he makes strides as a playmaker, the 2019 third-round pick’s value will be tied to finding the back of the net, though his potent release may continue to improve as he enters the prime of his career. He was productive alongside William Karlsson and had some chemistry with Mark Stone. The 23-year-old Dorofeyev will get a chance to secure a top-six role out of training camp following the offseason departures of Jonathan Marchessault and Chandler Stephenson via free agency, making him a possibility for 40-plus points in 2024-25, though he's unlikely to add much outside of the scoring categories.
