Tomasino had one assist in 11 appearances with Nashville in 2024-25 before being traded to Pittsburgh in late November. He was much more productive following the move, notching 11 goals and 23 points in 50 appearances for the Penguins, but he ran into some issues with offensive consistency. Tomasino had success in a top-six role alongside Evgeni Malkin and Michael Bunting but slipped to a bottom-six role down the stretch. Tomasino probably won’t be in the mix for a top-six spot in 2025-26, which hurts his fantasy upside, but he could be worthy of an in-season pickup if he receives an increased role again. Tomasino has filled a part-time role this season, appearing in just six of the Penguins' first 14 games. The 24-year-old forward is unlikely to see much more than middle-six usage and minimal power-play time, though he could have a steadier role during the absences of Justin Brazeau (upper body), Rickard Rakell (hand) and Noel Acciari (upper body). Tomasino has added eight shots on net, eight hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-1 rating so far this year.

Tomasino notched seven goals and 20 points in 41 games with the Predators last campaign. He had trouble staying in the lineup, serving as a healthy scratch and spending time in the minors. Tomasino averaged only 12:34 of ice time. The 23-year-old forward registered 11 goals and 18 points in 22 regular-season outings for AHL Milwaukee in 2023-24. It will be difficult for him to play at the NHL level in 2024-25 after the Predators signed Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault in the summer. Tomasino has offensive upside but may need a change of scenery to be worthy of a roster spot in fantasy leagues.
