Philip Tomasino

Tomasino endured a bit of a sophomore slump last seasib, producing 18 points, 28 hits and 54 shots on goal in 31 contests after putting up 32 points in 76 contests the year before. It was a lack of opportunity, not talent, that led to his decreased role in 2022-23, and with the Predators embracing retooling from within for 2023-24, he should be a fixture in the lineup. Look for Tomasino to pick up middle-six minutes on the wings while adding some power-play production as he enters his third campaign. He could have some appeal in deeper fantasy formats, but his scoring-only production will limit his usefulness.

Tomasino claimed a full-time role in the Nashville lineup last season as a 20-year-old, finishing his rookie campaign with 11 goals and 32 points in 76 games. He added nine points with the man advantage. A first-round pick of the Predators in 2019 (24th overall), Tomasino again seems likely to occupy a middle-six role for Nashville this coming year, although he probably wouldn't appear to be the least bit out of place if the Preds decide to give him an enhanced role. Tomasino remains a better keeper/dynasty pick than a redraft option.
