Showing playmaking potential
Heidt has 14 points in his last nine games with WHL Prince George.
ANALYSIS
Heidt, a second-round pick by the Wild in 2023, is up to 66 points (25 goals, 41 assists) through 44 games this season. While he's benefited from playing on a line with Terik Parascak, a top prospect in the Capitals' organization, Heidt has demonstrated advanced skating and playmaking ability that should translate well to the NHL game.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

In mix for roster spot
Heidt could be a wild-card candidate for a roster spot with Minnesota, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Heidt put together a fantastic 2023-24 campaign with WHL Prince George last year in which he racked up 37 goals and 80 assists, both career highs, in 66 games for the Cougars. The 19-year-old center clearly has some offensive upside, but whether he is ready for the next step remains to be seen. If he wows in camp, Heidt could force the club to keep him on the roster for at least nine games to get a closer look, before sending him to the AHL, rather than heading back to juniors in order to make him available for the occasional call-up.
