2025 Fantasy Outlook
Fabbri's 2024-25 campaign was cut short by a hand injury sustained in February. He doesn't have a full contract heading into 2025-26, but he'll attend Pittsburgh's camp on a tryout offer. A scoring winger with a slight physical edge, Fabbri would be best suited to a middle-six role if he's able to earn an NHL contract, though given the time he's missed and his scoring decline in recent years, he may have to settle for a two-way contract. Lands minor-league deal
Fabbri signed a professional tryout agreement with AHL Charlotte on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Fabbri has been trying to work his way back into the NHL after being cut from his training camp PTO with the Penguins. A stint with the Checkers could help convince the Panthers to sign the veteran winger to a two-way deal. In 44 regular-season games with the Ducks last year, Fabbri notched eight goals and eight helpers while averaging 16:12 of ice time.

Fabbri has been given chances before to serve in a top-six capacity, but he never ended up becoming a significant offensive threat. The Red Wings instead sent him out for an average of just 12:52 of ice time in 2023-24, and he performed capably in that new position, recording 18 goals and 32 points in 68 outings. The Red Wings traded Fabbri to Anaheim over the summer, so his playing time might tick up, but given his body of work, it's hard to expect much from the 28-year-old. If Fabbri gets to even the 40-point milestone in 2024-25, it would go down as his best campaign to date.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Poised to sign NHL deal
Fabbri is reportedly close to signing an NHL contract, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on Tuesday, though where remains to be seen.
ANALYSIS
Fabbri was with the Penguins on a professional tryout during training camp, and Pittsburgh is currently dealing with several injuries among its forward group. Still, the 29-year-old winger may not fit the bill for the type of short-term signing general manager Kyle Dubas is looking for. While Fabbri will almost certainly start in a bottom-six role wherever he ends up, he has the talent to move into the top six if needed.
