Rodrigo Abols

Rodrigo Abols

30-Year-Old CenterC
Philadelphia Flyers
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Abols is a late bloomer, but he was able to put up five points in 22 appearances with Philadelphia in his first taste of NHL action in 2024-25. He also provided 29 points in 46 regular-season games with AHL Lehigh Valley. Abols is best suited to bottom-six minutes when he's in the NHL, and his path could be easier since the Flyers don't have a ton of established talent. However, the 29-year-old adds little physicality, so it's not likely he'll be much of a factor for most fantasy formats. A best-case scenario would have Abols in the neighborhood of 10-15 points over a full campaign. Read Past Outlooks

Sweet deflection for rare goal
CPhiladelphia Flyers
January 15, 2026
Abols scored a goal Thursday in a 6-3 loss to the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
Abols deflected a Cam York slap shot early in the second frame; it was his second goal of the season. It was his first goal in 12 games (five assists). The 30-year-old fourth-line center has three goals, seven assists and 43 shots in 41 games. There's limited fantasy value in his profile.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Abols should get a look at the AHL level this season after inking his entry-level deal with the Panthers. The 23-year-old Latvian has some potential as a checking-line center if he can fill out his 6-foot-4, 187-pound frame. That said, Abols still has a ways to go before he even starts earning consideration at the NHL level.

Destined for waivers?
CPhiladelphia Flyers
October 2, 2025
Abols may start the year with AHL Lehigh Valley, assuming he is waived by the team first, Bill Meltzer of the Flyers' official site reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Abols suited up in 22 games for the Flyers last season in which he notched two goals, three assists and 25 shots while averaging 9:11 of ice time. With Abols potentially going down to the minors via waivers, it seems Jett Luchanko has secured his spot on the Opening Night roster. Even with a potential demotion, Abols will likely still see some NHL action this year, especially if Luchanko struggles early on.
