2025 Fantasy Outlook
Couturier missed most of the 2021-22 campaign and all of 2022-23 due to two back surgeries. He’s managed to stay relatively healthy since, but he isn’t providing the same kind of offense he used to. The 32-year-old had 15 goals and 45 points across 79 appearances with Philadelphia in 2024-25, which was up from 38 points in 74 outings in 2023-24, but it’s still far below his average pace of 72 points per 82 games from 2017-18 through 2021-22. Unfortunately, we probably won’t see him ever match his old level of success, given what he’s worked through. It would be better to pencil him in for 40-50 points for the 2025-26 campaign, though he does provide additional value in leagues that value faceoffs -- he had a 56.1 success rate (670 of 1,195) on the draw last year and is capable of repeating that. Scores again Friday
Couturier scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
Couturier put the Flyers up 2-0 in the first period just 22 seconds after Tyson Foerster opened the scoring. Over the last five games, Couturier has two goals and three assists. The 32-year-old center is still finding ways to be productive in a middle-six role after getting bumped off the top line. He's at four goals, 15 points, 32 shots on net, 18 hits, 14 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 22 appearances. The Flyers' offense is a bit of a committee approach, so Couturier should still carve out a decent share of points throughout the year.

After playing in only 45 contests in 2020-21, suiting up in 29 games in 2021-22 and missing the entire 2022-23 season, Couturier notched 11 goals and 38 points in 74 games last campaign. He played through other injuries, including a sports hernia that required surgery in the offseason. Couturier got off to a hot start, compiling seven goals and 21 points in his first 26 outings, but his production slowed as the year progressed. He only contributed one goal and 10 assists across his final 37 appearances. Couturier's lengthy injury history, which features multiple back surgeries, makes him a risky player for fantasy purposes in 2024-25. Still, he could be worthy of a late-round selection if he reclaims his spot as Philadelphia's top center.

Available to play?
Couturier might be fine to play against Toronto on Saturday despite suffering an upper-body injury in Thursday's 4-1 win over Nashville, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Couturier was a full participant in Philadelphia's morning skate, which bodes well for his availability against the Maple Leafs. However, he wasn't involved in line rushes, suggesting he could sit out at least one game. He missed the final two periods of Thursday's victory over the Predators due to the injury.
