2025 Fantasy Outlook
For the 13th straight season, Bobrovsky maintained a save percentage above .900, posting a .906 mark in addition to his 2.44 GAA and a 33-19-2 record over 54 regular-season games. The Panthers have managed his workload well enough to enable their deep playoff runs in recent years -- he hasn't topped the 60-game mark in a season since joining the Panthers in 2019. He's only gotten better in recent years, but he'll be entering his age-37 season in 2025-26, so the risk of age-related regression is nothing to scoff at. Bobrovsky is the type of goalie that you can trust until he gives you a reason not to, though you shouldn't expect him to lead the league in anything at this stage of his career. Read Past Outlooks
Set to start Winter Classic
Bobrovsky will get the starting nod at home in Friday's Winter Classic versus the Rangers, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Unsurprisingly, the Panthers will go with their No. 1 in the marquee event of the regular season. Bobrovsky went 7-2-1 with a 2.67 GAA and an .897 save percentage over 10 outings in December. This will be his first outdoor game since the 2012 Winter Classic, when he was a member of the Flyers.

Bobrovsky was an elite fantasy twine-tender in 2023-24, finishing tied for first overall in shutouts (six), third overall in wins (36) and GAA (2.37) and tied for seventh in save percentage (.915). He further cemented his Hall of Fame status with 16 wins in the postseason to earn Lord Stanley's cup. Bobrovsky was nominated for a third Vezina trophy, he already has two, but he lost out to Connor Helleybuyck. It would have been gravy in his Cup season. Sure, Bob the Goalie will be 36 to start the season, and people will start whispering about age, but the Russian Backstop is still elite and he invests the kind of time and effort into his health that could keep him near the league's best for a few more years. Bobrovsky is an excellent bet to be in the NHL's top-five netminders on a team that will push to repeat.

In starter's crease
Bobrovsky worked in the starter's crease ahead of Wednesday's road clash with the Mammoth, Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports reports, indicating he'll be in goal.
ANALYSIS
Bobrovsky has been struggling over his last five outings, going 1-3-1 with a 4.15 GAA and an .848 save percentage. Despite his recent stumbles, the veteran netminder shouldn't be too worried about losing the starting job to Daniil Tarasov, though the team could opt to give Bobrovsky a little extra rest along the way.
