2025 Fantasy Outlook
Don't let Bennett's playoff heroics deceive you -- he's a good but not great forward in the regular season before turning things up under pressure. While that's an admirable ability, Bennett set a career high with 51 points in 76 regular-season games last year before becoming a point-per-game player during the playoffs. He'll carry higher value in formats that count hits and PIM, where his ability to rough it up gets rewarded. The question now is how he'll respond after securing an eight-year, $64 million deal. Bennett has a safe floor of 40-plus points that's been established throughout his time in Florida, but this is a team that will prioritize the playoffs, and the center's playing style also leads to some injury or suspension absences. Pick him as a depth forward, and don't be sad if someone reaches on him early expecting his playoff numbers to carry over in 2025-26. Read Past Outlooks
Helps out twice Monday
Bennett dished out two assists, put four shots on goal, served two PIM and tallied two hits in Monday's 4-3 win over Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
Bennett played a hand in both of the goals scored by his linemate A.J. Greer, including the empty-netter to add to the team's lead late in the contest. With the pair of helpers, Bennett is up to 19 assists, 35 points, 115 shots on goal, 91 hits and 21 blocks through 45 games this season. Since Dec. 6, the 29-year-old center has been on fire with 22 points, 58 shots on net and 40 hits across 19 games. The second-line center leads the Panthers in points during that span and is 11th across the entire NHL since then. He also remains on pace to best his career high in points, which he set in 2024-25 with 51 in 76 regular-season appearances. With the Panthers needing to sharpen their play down the stretch to earn a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, Bennett will likely continue to lead by example, giving him a strong outlook in nearly all fantasy formats.

Bennett notched 20 goals and 41 points in 69 regular-season appearances during the 2023-24 campaign. He also picked up seven goals and seven helpers in 19 playoff games en route to helping Florida capture the Stanley Cup. Bennett has reached the 40-point plateau in three straight campaigns but still hasn't reached the 50-point mark in his career. The 28-year-old forward offers plenty of physicality, as evidenced by his career highs of 100 PIM and 173 hits from 2023-24. He is also capable of topping three shots per game, however, injuries and consistency issues frequently hold back his fantasy value. Bennett remains a solid late-round target for banger leagues. Fantasy managers in other formats may want to keep him on a watch list for a potential waiver pickup during stretches when he heats up offensively.
