2025 Fantasy Outlook
Taken in the second round back in the 2020 NHL Draft, Bordeleau is someone the Sharks had high hopes for, but he never really panned out in the way they hoped. The 23-year-old spent most of last season in the AHL, piecing together 38 points in 59 games with AHL San Jose. Now with the Devils' organization on a one-year deal, the young forward will likely start in the minors and try to work his way into a position to be a call-up option should injuries strike the New Jersey forward corps. Put on waivers
Bordeleau was placed on waivers by New Jersey on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Bordeleau had 14 goals and 38 points in 59 regular-season appearances with AHL San Jose in 2024-25. The 23-year-old has appeared in 44 career regular-season NHL games, recording six goals and 18 points over those outings, and it's plausible that he'll get at least one stint with the big club at some point during 2025-26.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
The Sharks refused to give Bordeleau a full-time role last season despite the fact they were the worst team in the league. He produced when given the chance, managing six goals and 11 points, including seven with the man advantage, in 27 games. With San Jose taking steps to be more competitive this coming year, Bordeleau is almost a lock to begin the upcoming campaign in the AHL. Still just 22 years old, he still has a decent amount of dynasty value, but it's starting to look like Bordeleau will need a change of scenery in order to reach his full potential.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Not close to promotion
The Sharks intend to let Bordeleau develop with AHL San Jose for the foreseeable future, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
Bordeleau has 13 goals -- the most by any AHL rookie this season -- and 20 points through 29 games on the year. He tallied five assists in a short, eight-game stint with the Sharks last season but the team will let him and William Eklund continue to develop at a slow pace. If Bordeleau continues his success this season he could carve out a role at the top level to begin the 2023-24 campaign.
