2025 Fantasy Outlook
Seguin turned back the clock at the beginning of the regular season, producing 20 points in 19 games, before a hip injury cost him all but one of the final 59 games. His gaudy regular-season numbers were bloated by him shooting 19.6 percent in a relatively small sample, but regardless, he was on pace for his best campaign in six seasons. He returned for the regular-season finale and then played in all 18 of the Stars' postseason games, scoring four goals and adding four assists. Durability remains the primary concern for the 33-year-old, but he's a top-six forward who gets power-play minutes on a good team when he's in the lineup. While the days of Seguin being a point-per-game player over a full 82-game slate are done, the 15-year veteran is still capable of putting up over 50 points in a season if he can stay relatively healthy. Not yet ruled out for season
Seguin (knee) will have his return timetable evaluated following the Olympic break after undergoing successful surgery Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Seguin was initially expected to miss the remainder of the regular season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL on Tuesday. While it still seems likely that he'll miss most, or all, of the regular season, the Stars aren't yet ready to make that determination and plan to check in on his progress in late February. Despite not being officially ruled out for the rest of the year, fantasy managers shouldn't count on meaningful late-season production from Seguin.

While he missed 14 games late in the campaign with a lower-body injury, Seguin still managed to put up 25 goals, 52 points, 154 shots on net and a plus-10 rating over 68 contests. The 32-year-old's 154 shots on net were his fewest in a full season since his rookie year, leading to an elevated 16.2 shooting percentage. He's well removed from being a consistent point-per-game threat, but Seguin will need to make some gains in shot volume to sustain the 50-point pace he's settled in at over the last few years. With the Stars' winning streak in scouting and drafting leading to younger reinforcements at the NHL level, look for Seguin to fill a middle-six role with time on the second power-play unit in 2024-25.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Unlikely to play Monday
Seguin, who has been dealing with a hip injury, is unlikely to be available for Monday's game in Detroit, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Although head coach Pete DeBoer said last week that Seguin is "really close" to returning, the 33-year-old will presumably remain sidelined for the Stars' penultimate game of the regular season since Lian Bichsel and Alex Petrovic were on the ice for morning skate. It's not yet clear whether Seguin will be available in Nashville on Wednesday, but it seems possible that he'll return sometime in the first round of the playoffs.
