Taken as a whole, it was a step forward for the 23-year-old, and Mancini would progress further this season if he’s able to secure a spot on Vancouver’s third pairing out of training camp. It’s going to be tough for him to earn that spot, but he’s in the mix. Just keep in mind that he’s not an offensive force and is unlikely to get regular power-play ice time, so don’t be shocked if he finishes below 20 points even if he spends the full season in the NHL.
