Costa (shoulder) is scheduled to compete against fellow flyweight Edgar Chairez at Noche UFC in San Antonio on Sept. 13, per Danny Segura of MMA Junkie.
ANALYSIS
UFC Vegas 97 previously included Costa against Matt Schnell. Their fight suffered cancellation because of the former's shoulder injury, which lasted for a long time. Noche UFC will mark Costa's first fight in over a year, ever since he finished Kevin Borjas at UFC 301.

ANALYSIS

Costa will take on Matt Schnell at UFC Vegas 97 on September 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Costa will return to the mat after opening up UFC 301 with a TKO victory over Kevin Borjas. The Brazilian flyweight has less experience than Schnell, though Schnell is currently sporting a two match losing streak and lacks the momentum that Costa currently exhibits.
Opens UFC 301 with stoppage win

Costa defeated Kevin Borjas via TKO (punches) at 1:35 of Round 2 at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Costa came up short in his most recent fight in November, but he was plenty competitive that evening, and that bout was against Steve Erceg, who is going to fight for a title later in the evening. Led by repeated effective low kicks, the Brazilian eventually dropped his opponent and earned the stoppage in the early portion of Round 2. It would go on to warrant one of four $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses awarded on the evening. Still just 28 years of age, Costa's 2-2 UFC record is nothing to write home about, but those two defeats are against Erceg and Amir Albazi, arguably two of the top five flyweights in the world. There's still plenty of potential here.
