Fighting Musasa
Vera will fight Josias Musasa at UFC Vegas 104 on March 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS

Overwhelmed in UFC debut
Vera lost to Rinya Nakamura via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 298 on Saturday in Anaheim.
ANALYSIS
By far the largest underdog on the card at +800, Vera did well to see the final bell. His entire offensive arsenal consisted of grabbing a hold of Nakamura's leg and hoping some type of submission developed. It did not. Vera still gets a pass here given he was going up against one of the sport's best prospects in his UFC debut, as well as the fact he took this fight on short notice. That said, at age 36 and with just one knockout victory in 15 professional fights, it's nearly impossible to believe Vera will have any sort of sustained success during his time with the company.

Steps in for Hiestand
Vera will fight Rinya Nakamura at UFC 298 on Feb. 17, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Vera was initially scheduled to debut against Daniel Marcos in December, but the canceled bout delayed his first UFC appearance. He'll now get an opportunity to fight Nakamura, who is 2-0 in the promotion and a perfect 9-0 in professional MMA.

UFC debut canceled
Vera will no longer fight Daniel Marcos at UFC Vegas 83 on Saturday, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why the fight was taken off Saturday's card, but it means more waiting for Vera's UFC debut. The 36-year-old fighter holds a 11-3 professional record, though he lost his most recent fight in March.
