Cruises as biggest favorite on card
LightweightUFC
April 12, 2025
Hooper defeated Jim Miller via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 314 on Saturday in Miami.
ANALYSIS
For a second fight in a row, Hooper found himself as the biggest favorite on the card, this time at north of -900. He was able to get Clay Guida out of there in less than four minutes in December, but had to go the distance today against another veteran in Miller. This fight was fairly even for about a round before Hooper floored the gas pedal and made it a grappling match. He landed seven takedowns and 8:11 worth of control time in the final two rounds alone, cruising to the win. Hooper is still just 25 years old, and his striking, while not a strength, keeps improving. He's won five straight and is without a defeat dating back to October 2022.

Draws Miller at UFC 314
LightweightUFC
January 28, 2025
Hooper will fight Jim Miller at UFC 314 on April 12, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Hooper extended his winning streak to four with a win over Clay Guida in December, but he'll be at a significant experience disadvantage against the 41-year-old Miller, who has won three of his last four fights.
Cruises as biggest favorite on card
LightweightUFC
December 7, 2024
Hooper defeated Clay Guida via submission (armbar) at 3:41 of Round 1 at UFC 310 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A victory over the 42-year-old Guida as a -1200 favorite doesn't mean a heck of a lot, but Hooper continues to improve, particularly in the stand-up. His grappling skills have always been high-end, but he's finally learned how to use his size and length on the feet as a weapon. Still just 25 years old, Chase's UFC run got off to an uneven start, but he's won four straight dating back to May 2023, with the last three wins coming via submission. He's a real threat in there. In the meantime, Hooper will walk away with one of four $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses awarded on the evening.
Slated to face Guida
LightweightUFC
September 25, 2024
Hooper will take on Clay Guida in a lightweight bout at UFC 310 on Dec. 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
This is an interesting fight for Hooper, as he's 17 years younger than Guida and has fought in 27 less UFC bouts. Hooper will be looking to stack his fourth-straight UFC win after most recently taking care of Slava Borshchev back in May. Meanwhile, Guida will be looking for redemption as he's lost two straight UFC fights.
Dominates in third straight win
LightweightUFC
May 11, 2024
Hooper defeated Slava Borshchev via submission (Brabo choke) at 3:00 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
It was by far the most dominant effort of Hooper's young career and one of the most dominant efforts we have seen from any fighter in quite a while. In a fight which lasted exactly eight minutes, Hooper finished with a 129-2 edge in terms of total strikes landed. That is not a misprint. He also landed a takedown for 6:03 worth of control time. It doesn't get any more dominant than that. The scary thing is that the tap-out which ended the fight was questionable. Referee Keith Peterson judged Slava to have tapped out, but he may have been adjusting his hand. Either way, Hooper, still just 24 years of age, has his third straight win.
Will take on Borshchev
LightweightUFC
March 1, 2024
Hooper will take on Slava Borshchev in a UFC event on May 11th, with the city yet to be decided, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Hooper has played just twice in the lightweight category, but it seems moving up a division from featherweight paid off for him, as he's looking more and more comfortable following his wins over Jordan Leavitt and Nick Fiore. He will aim to make it three wins in a row in an event that's being rumored to happen in San Diego.
