Strong effort as underdog
Light HeavyweightUFC
February 5, 2023
Clark defeated Da Un Jung via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Long on potential and short on consistent performance, Clark put forth a complete effort in this one. Entering as a surprising +230 underdog, Clark leaned heavily on his wrestling game, connecting on 3-of-11 takedown attempts. He also landed more than twice as many total strikes as Jung, finishing with a 96-43 edge. Clark's power is limited, but he's an underrated athlete and has been in the octagon with a bunch of high-level opponents (Jan Blachowicz, Anthony Smith, Ryan Spann, Aleksandar Rakic). That said, even with this win, Clark is just 2-3 in his past five fights dating back to November 2020, so he needs to keep winning.
Booked against Da Un Jung
Light HeavyweightUFC
October 20, 2022
Clark will take on Da Un Jung in a light heavyweight matchup at UFC Seoul on Feb. 4, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Clark has hit a rough patch of late, dropping three of his last four fights and getting finished in two of them. He'll now take on a fighter in Jung who is coming off a KO loss but is 4-1-1 with the company overall. Clark is most successful when he executes a wrestling-based game plan, but that may be difficult against Jung considering he sports a highly-commendable takedown defense of 88 percent. Jung also has the edge in striking volume, plus will take four-inch height and three-inch reach advantages into the Octagon.
Not competitive in San Diego
Light HeavyweightUFC
August 13, 2022
Clark lost to Azamat Murzakanov via TKO (punches) at 1:18 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 41 on Saturday in San Diego.
ANALYSIS
Clark earned his first stoppage win with the UFC with a knockout win over William Knight this past April, but he was right back to his inconsistent ways in this one, showing nothing in a loss to the underrated Murzakanov. Clark was sub-par in Round 1 and dreadful in Round 2 before a Murzaknov body shot dropped him and led to the stoppage in Round 3. Clark has seemingly always had potential, but it has simply never translated. Now 32 years of age and sporting a 1-3 record in his past four fights dating back to November 2020, there's a non-zero chance the UFC could decide to cut bait here.
Facing Azamat Murzakanov in August

May 17, 2022
Clark (13-6-0) is scheduled to face Azamat Murzakanov (11-0-0) in a light heavyweight fight scheduled for the UFC's Aug. 13 event, Farah Hannoun of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
After defeating William Knight in a heavyweight bout April 16 in Las Vegas, Clark will move back to the light heavyweight ranks for his 14th career UFC bout. The win over Knight snapped a two-fight losing streak for Clark, who owns a 7-6-0 record since joining the promotion in July 2016.
First stoppage win in UFC
Light HeavyweightUFC
April 16, 2022
Clark defeated William Knight via TKO (strikes) at 3:21 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Clark has been up and down through his five-plus years with the UFC, and even when he's fought well, he's shown very little stopping power in his hands. That certainly wasn't the case in this one. Clark seemed to flip the switch following a mediocre opening frame. Over the course of the final eight-plus minutes of the fight, Clark finished with a 82-20 edge in total strikes landed. The finish was beautiful, as an elbow and a left hook led to some additional strikes which forced referee Dan Miragliotta to step in. Clark has always been a fighter with more potential than his 6-6 record with the company entering the evening would lead you to believe, and hopefully this is the start of a strong run from him. It was Clark's first stoppage win with the UFC.
