Earns late stoppage in weird fight
LightweightUFC
October 18, 2025
Dober defeated Kyle Prepolec via TKO (strikes) at 1:16 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Vancouver.
ANALYSIS
What a weird fight. Dober dominated early on as a -330 favorite, and it looked as if he might get the ever-durable Prepolec out of there in Round 1. When it didn't happen, the latter slowly began to find his range, and Dober found himself in legitimate trouble. Things were trending poorly for Drew early in Round 3, at which point he blasted Prepolec with a vicious, accidental low blow. Dober was docked a point, and Kyle took the entire five minutes to recover. Knowing he could likely do no better than a draw on the scorecards, Dober went nuts as soon as action resumed and got the stoppage. The two men would also be awarded a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus. Now 36 years old, Drew entered having lost three straight. Were it not for this extremely odd set of circumstances, his time with the company quite possible could have been over.

Set to fight Oct. 18

August 25, 2025
Dober is scheduled to compete against Kyle Prepolec in a lightweight bout at UFC Vancouver on Oct. 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After losing his last fight to Manuel Torres via TKO (punches) in Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on March 29 in Mexico City, Dober is set to return to the Octagon. The 36-year-old holds a 27-15-0 professional record and has lost four of his last five bouts dating back to May 2023.
Struggles continue in Mexico City

Dober lost to Manuel Torres via TKO (punches) at 1:45 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
When we last saw Dober in Denver last July, he was taking an all-time beating from Jean Silva and still lasting until early in Round 3. Here, he was finished off by Torres in a span of 105 seconds. Dober was dropped with a right hand and then ate countless unanswered strikes after grabbing on to the leg of Torres. Perhaps referee Mike Beltran could have allowed it to continue a little longer, but Drew was in pretty deep trouble. Now 36 years old, Dober has lost three in a row and four of five (including three via knockout) dating back to May 2023. Time is almost up.
Headed south of the border

Dober will take on Manuel Torres in a lightweight matchup at UFC Mexico on March 29, CC Legaspi of ESPN Deportes reports.
ANALYSIS
Dober is a gritty veteran who was ranked in a deep lightweight division at one point, but now finds himself on the losing end of three of his last four fights. He's nothing if not entertaining, however, as Dober has picked up a post-fight bonus in four of his last six trips to the cage, including his July doctor's stoppage loss to Jean Silva in Round 3. Things won't get any easier against Torres, as Dober will have to head into enemy territory to face a fighter with height, reach and volume striking advantages. Torres is also a capable wrestler, though this has the makings of a high-volume, fan-friendly affair.
Displays heart in epic defeat

Dober lost to Jean Silva via TKO (doctor stoppage) at 1:28 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Denver.
ANALYSIS
It's the rare fight in which everyone walks out a winner. Dober has been training in Colorado forever and entered with the crowd firmly behind him. He put forth a very competent showing, matching Silva blow-for-blow and frequently getting the better of him at times. Unfortunately for Drew, he developed one of the nastiest cuts you will ever see above his right eyebrow. Referee Herb Dean and the doctor checked it at the end of Round 2 and let Dober continue, but after eating some huge blows early in Round 3, were finally forced to pull the plug. Dober is the ultimate warrior and still has plenty of gas left in the tank at age 35, but with back-to-back defeats on his resume, he needs to get back in the win column sooner rather than later. On the bright side, he'll walk away with an extra $50,000 after this back-and-forth war was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
