LightweightUFC
March 8, 2025
Bahamondes defeated Jalin Turner via submission (triangle choke) at 2:29 of Round 1 at UFC 313 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's just the second submission win of Bahamondes' career, and it came in a massive spot. Known as a volume striker with elite size and length for the lightweight division, Ignacio put his 6-foot-3 frame to use from the bottom. He used his long legs to catch Turner in a triangle choke and pulled with all his might. It ended up being enough to earn the stoppage, as well as a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Still just 27 years old, Bahamondes is 6-1 in his past seven fights, with five of those wins coming via stoppage. He's quickly flying up the rankings in what is a loaded lightweight division.

Bahamondes is scheduled to compete against fellow lightweight Jalin Turner at UFC 313 in Las Vegas on March 8, per Matthew Wells of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS

Statement win at UFC 306

Bahamondes defeated Manuel Torres via TKO (punches) at 4:02 of Round 1 at UFC 306 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's a statement win from Bahamondes in a bout in which he found himself as a +110 underdog. Facing an opponent with four straight first-round knockout wins on his resume, Ignacio showed off both his power and pinpoint striking. A sniper in every sense of the word, Bahamondes dropped Torres twice, the second of which, combined with some follow-up blows, forced referee Marc Goddard to pull the plug. The finish would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Still just 27 years of age, Bahamondes is 5-1 in his past six bouts dating back to August 2021, with four of those wins coming via stoppage. He's a name to keep an eye on moving forward in a loaded lightweight division.
Will take on Torres
LightweightUFC
July 16, 2024
Bahamondes will fight Manuel Torres in a lightweight bout at UFC 306 in Las Vegas on Sept. 14, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Bahamondes will look to keep his momentum going after he disposed of Christos Giagos with a Head Kick in the first round of a fight back in April, a win that pushed his UFC record to 4-2-0. At 6-foot-3, Bahamondes has five inches of height on his opponent. Torres, however, is perfect in the UFC at 3-0-0 and will be looking for a fourth consecutive victory.
Standout performance in KO win
LightweightUFC
April 6, 2024
Bahamondes defeated Christos Giagos via KO (head kick) at 3:34 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Bahamondes was a -250 favorite his last time out, a unanimous decision loss to L'udovit Klein last August. He had no such issues here against Giagos at -325. About the biggest lightweight on the roster at 6-foot-3, Ignacio used his massive size and power advantage to pick his opponent apart at distance. He landed countless massive body shots, finally putting Bahamondes with a head kick that closed the show in an instant. Still just 26 years of age, Bahamondes has massive long-term potential despite his somewhat inconsistent (4-2) start to his UFC run.

Bahamondes will fight Christos Giagos at UFC Vegas 89 on April 6, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
A loss to L'udovit Klein snapped Bahamondes' three-fight winning streak, but he'll have an opportunity to get back in the win column against Giagos, who has lost three of his last four.
