Taking on Irene Aldana
Chiasson will face Irene Aldana in a catchweight contest at UFC 279 on September 10, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Chiasson, like Aldana, enters UFC 279 riding a one-game winning streak. Chiasson, however, has fought much more recently, beating Norma Dumont by decision in May at UFC 274. Chiasson enters the match with a height, weight, and reach advantage on the older Aldana. Whether Aldana's superior experience can level the playing field remains to be seen.

Defeats heavy opponent
Chiasson defeated Norma Dumont via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27) at UFC 274 on Saturday in Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
It was a massive victory for Chiasson as she not only picked up the win, but also pocketed 30 percent of Dumont's fight purse after the latter missed weight by half a pound on Friday. Apparently sensing a hole in Dumont's game, Chiasson fired off a dozen takedowns, landing half of them. She essentially confirmed in her post-fight interview that she saw it as her clearest path to victory and took it. Chiasson's biggest asset is her size. She's a legitimate 5-foot-11 and is going to be the bigger woman against most every opponent. It hasn't been pretty at times, but Chiasson has quietly racked up an impressive 6-2 record in her first eight UFC bouts.

Opponent misses weight
Chiasson will receive 30 percent of Norma Dumont's purse for Saturday's featherweight matchup at UFC 274 after Dumont missed weight Friday, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Dumont tipped the scales at 146.5 pounds and will not make a second attempt to cut weight, so Chiasson will receive a portion of her purse at UFC 274. Chiasson lost to Raquel Pennington in December via submission, but she'll look to get back on track Saturday against Dumont, who is currently on a three-fight win streak.

Targeted for May bout
Chiasson is expected to take on Norma Dumont in a UFC fight on May 7, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chiasson is coming off a submission loss at the hands of Raquel Pennington in December. She had a two-fight win streak prior to the defeat. She will look to rebound against Dumont, who has put together three straight victories after a loss in her debut.

Submitted after missing weight
Chiasson lost to Raquel Pennington via submission (guillotine choke) at 3:07 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
As if missing weight by 2.5 pounds on Friday morning and forfeiting a percentage of her purse to Pennington in order for the fight to proceed wasn't bad enough, Chiasson still ended up being choked out. To be fair, Chiasson was the more effective fighter in the opening frame despite the fact two of the three judges somehow scored it for Pennington. Chiasson ended up tapping out midway through Round 2 to a strange 10-finger guillotine choke which you rarely see in MMA. Between the defeat and weight miss, Chiasson -- who is just 2-2 in her last four fights dating back to September 2019 -- has plenty of questions to answer.
