ANALYSIS
It's hard to blame Schnell for getting routed in a fight in which he entered as a +350 underdog, but if he was hoping to put forth a competent performance in hopes of keeping his roster spot, it simply didn't happen. In fact, Schnell made a foolish mistake on the mat you typically don't see from such an experienced veteran, essentially rolling into the guillotine choke from Morales which put him away. Set to turn 36 years of age in January and the loser of four of his last five, all via stoppage, there simply isn't much upside to the UFC running Schnell back out there.

He should be more angry not with the end result, but how it happened. These two spent the entirety of Round 1 winging bombs at each other. Both men connected plenty. For some reason, Schnell shot out for a foolish and lazy takedown attempt in the opening seconds of Round 2 and left his neck exposed in the process. He was tapping out moment later.
