ANALYSIS
Marlott, who most recently defeated Trevin Giles at UFC Fight Night 246, will match up against Charles Radtke in May. The 33-year-old Canadian fighter is 4-1 during his time with the UFC with his sole loss coming against Neil Magny at UFC 297.

Takes decision in home country
Malott defeated Trevin Giles via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Edmonton.
ANALYSIS
Fresh off the first loss of his UFC career, a knockout defeat to Neil Magny in January in which he dominated the whole way before gassing out and getting finished with 15 seconds left, Malott got back in the win column, but was highly unimpressive in the process. He appeared to intentionally scale back his volume in hopes of preserving his gas tank. Luckily for Malott, Giles accomplished even less. Earning the victory was the most important thing, but the type of effort we saw from Malott tonight isn't going to be enough to defeat any top-15 UFC welterweight. He needs to be better his next time out.

Gets hometown fight in November
Malott will take on Trevin Giles in a welterweight matchup at UFC Edmonton on November 2, Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Malott started his official UFC run with three consecutive stoppages within two rounds, including two POTN bonuses. That streak ended against perennial gatekeeper Neil Magny back in January, and since then, Malott had a scheduled April fight against Gilbert Urbina cancelled. His next walk to the cage will be in front of a friendly Canadian crowd, taking on an opponent in Giles who has been finished in back-to-back fights. Malott enters with a slight statistical edge in striking volume, as well as a significant edge in offensive wrestling. Both men measure up nearly identically from a physical standpoint.

No longer fighting Urbina
Malott is no longer fighting Gilbert Urbina on July 13, according to Aaron Bronsteter of Sportsnet.
ANALYSIS
An injury will prevent the Malott-Urbina fight from happening, though it is unclear who is going through said problem. Malott will have to avenge his January loss to Neil Magny some other time.

Next fight scheduled
Malott is scheduled to compete against Gilbert Urbina in a welterweight fight at the UFC's July 13 event, Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS
Malott will look to avenge himself from a TKO loss at the hands of Neil Magny. Malott's next opponent is also trying to bounce back from a TKO defeat, from Charlie Radtke in Urbina's case.
