Losing streak hits three
Johns lost to Daniel Marcos via technical submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:23 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Johns' struggles continue. He was competitive on the feet for about a round before appearing to tire and allowing Marcos to take over. The fact Johns was tossed to the mat without issue and eventually submitted by a guy that entered without a submission win on his resume is obviously a massive red flag. The 31-year-old Kansas native has had some strong performances with the UFC, but it's been all downhill of late. The loser of three in a row, Johns' roster spot is most definitely in jeopardy.

Gets new opponent
Johns will take on Daniel Marcos in a bantamweight bout at UFC Vegas 111 on Nov. 8, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Gafurov up next
Johns will fight Muin Gafurov at UFC Vegas 110 on Nov. 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After taking a loss in each of his last two bouts, Johns will be desperate to avoid slipping into a three-fight losing streak for the first time in his professional career. Momentum won't be on his side, however, as his opponent has won two consecutive UFC fights.

Falls into first career losing streak
Johns lost to Jean Matsumoto via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Vegas 109 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Johns appeared to be the faster fighter in Round 1, likely taking the frame based on the strength of his combinations and a well-timed takedown. Round 2 was airtight in terms of striking numbers, but this time it was Matsumoto who was the primary aggressor. With the fight in the balance in Round 3, Matsumoto started to pull away in the striking numbers and was ultimately awarded a close period in the eyes of the judges despite the fact Johns earned three more takedowns. Nobody will scream robbery here, but there's a case to be made Johns should have got the nod. The end result was Johns suffering back-to-back losses for the first time in his career.

Next fight booked
Johns will face off against Jean Matsumoto at UFC Vegas 109 on Aug. 9, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Johns will get back in the ring against Jean Matsumoto in August after most recently falling short against Felipe Lima in December. The 31-year-old American is 6-3 during his time with the UFC.

Unbeaten streak snapped at four
Johns lost to Felipe Lima via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa, Florida.
ANALYSIS
Johns entered on a nice little run, unbeaten in his last four fights (3-0, 1NC), but he got a wakeup call here against a quality opponent in Lima. Johns attempted to remain active, but Lima landed the more notable blows throughout the course of the fight. The fact Miles allowed a pair of takedowns didn't help matters, either. All told, it was a clear cut unanimous decision loss for the 30-year-old Kansas native. Johns, who remained active all year, wraps up his 2024 by sporting a 2-1 mark in three bouts.
