Azaitar (undisclosed) is scheduled to compete against Michael Johnson in a lightweight fight at UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Azaitar's next opponent has been in the UFC since 2010, racking up many wins and losses since his promotion arrival. This is Azaitar's first fight since 2023, when he suffered a TKO loss to Francisco Prado. That was the second of two fights Azaitar has been finished in since his UFC re-signing.

Scheduled for Nov. 18 fight
LightweightUFC
August 15, 2023
Azaitar is set to take on Darrius Flowers at UFC Vegas 82 on Nov. 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After losing two straight fights, Azaitar's next chance to get into the winning column will come at the hands of Flowers. Azaitar stands one-inch shorter than Flowers but shares the same 71.0" reach. Both fighters prefer to keep the fight upright and avoid using the floor and high volume striking.
Second straight knockout loss
LightweightUFC
July 15, 2023
Azaitar lost to Francisco Prado via TKO (punches) at 4:05 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 49 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The positive moments were few and far between for Azaitar in a fight that went off as essentially a pick 'em. He appeared to be in halfway decent shape before a short elbow knocked him to the ground. Prado immediately fired off countless unanswered hammerfists which eventually forced referee Chris Tognoni to step in. Azaitar wasn't happy with the stoppage, but he was a bloody mess, and it appeared to be plenty justified. The 33-year-old won each of his first two UFC bouts via knockout, but the tables have turned for Ottman. He will likely be fighting for his job his next time out.
Matched up against Prado
LightweightUFC
May 11, 2023
Azaitar will face Francisco Prado in a lightweight bout at a UFC event on July 15 in Las Vegas, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Azaitar is coming off a loss at the hands of Matt Frevoia in November. Prior to that fight, however, the Germany native was on a tear. In fact, that was his first professional MMA defeat. Now, he'll face Prado, who is also coming off his only professional loss.
Gets medical suspension
LightweightUFC
November 14, 2022
Azaitar has been handed a 90-day medical suspension, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Azaitar was knocked out early last Saturday against Matt Frevola. It was a poor showing in his second chance with the UFC after violating COVID protocols back at UFC 257. It's unclear what will be next for Azaitar, but he will be suspended at least through mid-February.
Loses spotless record with quick KO
LightweightUFC
November 12, 2022
Azaitar lost to Matt Frevola via KO (punch) at 2:30 of Round 1 at UFC 281 on Saturday in New York.
ANALYSIS
We've seen Azaitar's heavy hands spell doom for fighters in the UFC, but something seemed off about "Bulldozer" after a long layoff due to violating COVID-19 protocols, as he simply looked a bit lethargic in the Octagon. This allowed Frevola to swallow him with pressure and pace before landing the big shot to close the show. Azaitar has some of the biggest power in the division and should look to rebound after taking some time to recover. He leaves the ranks of the unbeaten as a result of the loss, falling to 13-1-0 in professional MMA.
