Temirov has been suspended one year retroactively for testing positive for trimetazidine, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Temirov was scheduled for a matchup against Asu Almabayev at UFC Abu Dhabi last July, but he was pulled from the fight a few weeks early for what, at the time, were undisclosed reasons. We now know that a positive drug test was to blame, and he'll spend a year on the sidelines as of his positive test. That puts Temirov in line for a return any time after July 5, 2026. Considering he was 2-0 to begin his UFC career, he may have a little more leeway in this kind of situation than most in terms of roster spot security.

ANALYSIS

Facing Almabayev in July

Temirov will take on Asu Almabayev at UFC Abu Dhabi on July 26, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Temirov will hope to continue his positive momentum as he will head into the bout riding an 11-fight win streak across promotions. The 28-year-old fighter from Uzbekistan will have to overcome a slight reach disadvantage against the older Almabayev. With Temirov's perfect 11-0 professional record in KO/TKO finishes combined with Almabayev's recent TKO defeat, "Temurlan" will likely be looking to use his stopping power to end this one early, though he will ahve to remain weary of Almabayev's attempts to get him on the ground, as the fighter from Kazakhstan holds an impressive 9-1 career record in submission finishes.
Defeats Charles Johnson via decision

Out
March 2, 2025
Temirov defeated Charles Johnson via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Vegas 103 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Temirov got the best of Johnson in terms of significant strikes landed in the first two frames, which was enough to lock in the fight in the eyes of the judges. He did slow down in Round 3, with Johnson landing 37 significant strikes to his 15, which put the overall striking numbers in favor of Johnson. It wasn't enough, however, and Temirov improves to 2-0 in the UFC, including a first-round finish over CJ Vegara last October.
Taking on Charles Johnson in March

Temirov will face Charles Johnson at UFC Vegas 103 on March 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a TKO (punches) victory over C.J. Vergara in his UFC debut, Temirov faces a difficult test in his second UFC fight. Johnson won all four of his fights in 2024 and has a significant height and experience advantage over Temirov. However, Temirov's win over Vergara proved he belongs in the UFC.
Shines in UFC debut

Temirov defeated C.J. Vergara via TKO (punches) at 2:50 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Lined as a -360 favorite for his UFC debut, Temirov went out and put on a show against a tough, well-respected veteran in Vergara. He unloaded with everything but the kitchen sink, racking up three massive knockdowns before referee Jason Herzog pulled the plug. Temirov showed a ton of power prior to his company arrival, and for one night at least, that thunder carried over to the highest level. The 27-year-old is a fighter to keep an eye on moving forward in a thin flyweight division. In the meantime, he'll walk away with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here.
