Booked vs. Jenkins
Taveras will take on Jack Jenkins in a featherweight bout at UFC Perth on Sept. 27, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Taveras is looking to bounce back from his first career UFC loss in his second fight with the promotion. He lost to Davey Grant via unanimous decision in December after winning his debut fight against Serhiy Sidey. His opponent Jenkins is also coming off a loss, so both fighters will be pressing to get back on the winning side of the Octagon.

Drops decision to Davey Grant
Taveras lost to Davey Grant via unanimous decision (28-29, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa, Florida.
ANALYSIS
Taveras had one big moment in Round 2 in which he landed a blow that forced Grant to the mat, but other than that, he was totally outworked in what was a 15-minute kickboxing match. When the final bell rang, Ramon attempted just 156 significant strikes compared to 290 from Grant. The difference in output was more than enough to ensure he dropped the decision. Taveras is now 1-1 in the UFC, the same mark he posted in a pair of fights on Dana White's Contender Series.

Scheduled for UFC Tampa
Taveras (undisclosed) is scheduled to compete against Davey Grant in a bantamweight fight at UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, per Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
ANALYSIS
Taveras will have an opportunity to go 2-0 after all. He was supposed to fight Caolan Loughran at UFC 304 before withdrawing from the event less than a week before it. Instead of Loughran, Taveras' next opponent is Grant, looking for his first win since March 2023.

Not fighting at UFC 304
Taveras (undisclosed) will no longer fight Caolan Loughran at UFC 304 on July 27, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear what forced Taveras to need to be removed from the card just a week before the event, but the UFC has immediately found a new opponent, as Jake Hadley will step in to fill the vacancy.

New fight scheduled
Taveras will fight Caolan Loughran at UFC 304 in Manchester, England on July 27, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Taveras' bout against Loughran will most likely be held in bantamweight. Taveras is coming off a split decision against victory Serhiy Sidey in January and will look to remain undefeated in the UFC.

Fortunate win after weight miss
Taveras defeated Serhiy Sidey via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC 297 on Saturday in Toronto.
ANALYSIS
As the old saying goes, it's better to be lucky than good. And make no mistake about it, Taveras was lucky that two of the three judges felt he won this fight. Most everyone else that watched would have disagreed. Ramon started on fire after missing weight by almost four pounds Friday morning. There's absolutely a case to be made that he landed the bigger blows throughout the duration of the bout, but Sidey had a big edge in terms of volume over the course of the final ten minutes. It certainly appeared as if it should have been enough, but wasn't. Taveras' next issue is getting his issues on the scale figured out.
