Song lost to Muslim Salikhov via KO (kick) at 3:49 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Macau, China.
ANALYSIS
Song has had all sorts of durability issues in the past and that's not something that typically improves with age. If anything, it gets worse as we saw here. Song got clipped with a wheel kick from Salikhov a little under four minutes in and had zero chance of surviving. A few follow-up blows later and he was done for good. Song is tough as nails and capable of a strong effort here and there, but he'll be 35 years of age in March and is just 2-4 in his last six fights dating back to March 2021. His time is just about up.

ANALYSIS

Song defeated Rick Glenn via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 29-28) at UFC 305 on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
ANALYSIS
This was a very competitive fight for five minutes, but once Song managed to stay upright for good, he cruised. Song gave up a pair of Round 1 takedowns before finding his range. He strung together some beautiful combinations and battered Glenn with countless power shots. Song racked up a ton of submission victories early in his career, but that part of his game has all but vanished during his UFC run. As is, Song is a one-dimensional power puncher best suited to succeed in brawls. The 34-year-old is sporting a .500 record over his past six bouts dating back to February 2020.
