Next fight now catchweight
Garcia will compete against Kyle Nelson in a catchweight fight at UFC Vegas 97 on Saturday, according to the promotion.
ANALYSIS
Nelson missed the featherweight weight limit by 2.5 pounds, resulting in his fight against Garcia being at catchweight. Either way, he will look to continue his rampant streak of wins, all of them KO/TKOs.

Will fight Kyle Nelson
Garcia is slated to fight Kyle Nelson at UFCVegas97 on September 7th, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Fourth straight knockout win
Garcia defeated Seungwoo Choi via TKO (punches) at 1:36 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
You would think Garcia's recent history would discourage opponents from getting into a slugfest with him, but nope, Choi was more than willing. The two men began winging bombs at each other in the center of the Octagon about a minute in, and not surprisingly, Garcia got the better of it. The finish would go on to earn him one of four $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses awarded on the evening. It's perfectly fair to wonder how Steve is going to generate offense if these power shots aren't landing, but that hasn't been an issue the past year-plus. The 32-year-old Jackson/Wink product has earned four straight knockout wins, and is 5-1 in his past six, with each victory coming via KO. Garcia is going to get a bump up in competition his next time out. He deserves it.

Booked against Seungwoo Choi
Garcia will take on Seungwoo Choi in a featherweight matchup at UFC Vegas 94 on July 20, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Garcia's UFC career got off to a 1-2 start, but he's since rattled off three consecutive stoppage victories, all within two rounds, most recently defeating Melquizael Costa in December. Choi has been out of action even longer, as he last fought in August and had a scheduled bout in April fall out due to an undisclosed injury. Both men measure up nearly identically in height and reach, but it's Garcia who holds the statistical edge in nearly every striking and grappling stat.

Third straight knockout win
Garcia defeated Melquizael Costa via KO (elbows) at 1:01 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Clearly not bothered by the illness that forced this fight to be delayed a week, Garcia, who is known for his power, found his range after an awful first round in which Costa landed a pair of takedowns, good for 4:41 worth of control time. When the clock hit Round 2, Garcia unloaded everything but the kitchen sink on his opponent. He ended up finishing with a 29-1 edge in total strikes landed in the second frame, the last few of which forced referee Chris Tognoni to step in. Garcia doesn't get talked about much in a loaded lightweight division, but the 31-year-old New Mexico has won three in a row dating back to October 2022, all via knockout.
