GMS Racing officials announced that veteran driver Elliott will drive the No. 23 ISM Connect Chevrolet Camaro at Road America in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Johnsonville 180, GMS Racing PR reports.
ANALYSIS
In a bit of surprising turn of events, GMS Racing has announced that Elliott will drive the No. 23 Chevrolet at Road America in three weeks. The Hall of Famer hasn't competed in NASCAR since 2012, and Elliott hasn't raced in the Xfinity Series since 2007. It will be interesting to see how the 62-year-old handles his first NASCAR action in several years on the challenging Wisconsin road circuit.
