Lundgaard finished third in the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach IndyCar race Sunday.

ANALYSIS
Lundgaard had pace all weekend, but a crash in qualifying pushed him to a 12th-place start on the grid. That in part inspired his second consecutive podium, however, as he began the race on the hard compound tire -- the only driver starting inside the top 12 to do so. Lundgaard ran a long stint relative to his competitors and inherited the lead on Lap 8 as a result, allowing him to punch in fast lap times in the clean air and pick up valuable track position. It's been an impressive start to the year for Lundhaard, as he sits third in the driver standings.
