The first season with Kaulig Racing didn't quite yield the results expected of this veteran driver and this capable race team. Williams nabbed just four Top 10's last season and finished 18th in the final driver standings. Much more was expected but it didn't materialize. Nonetheless, the team signed him to a multi-season deal in 2023 and will once again field Williams in the No. 11 Chevrolet in 2025. Williams big issue that he needs to work on in the coming season is DNF's. He logged seven of those disappointments last year and it overshadowed his four Top 10's and inflated his average finish to 21.7. Parting ways with Kaulig

Williams and Kaulig Racing have parted ways effective immediately, according to a statement released by the team on Wednesday.

ANALYSIS
Williams was in the middle of his second full-time season driving the No. 11 entry for Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series. He had just two top-10 finishes in 21 races and sat 19th in points. It appears the team decided to go in another direction and this certainly leaves Williams' future in NASCAR up in the air. Kaulig announced that multiple drivers will make up the final 12 races in the No. 11 car the rest of the season, starting this weekend at Iowa with Carson Hocevar getting behind the wheel. Kaulig has struggled the last couple years with their Xfinity program and getting some Cup drivers behind the wheel could help them get some valuable information on where they need to get better for their other two full-time young drivers in Christian Eckes and Daniel Dye. Williams will see another ride going into 2026.

After eight seasons of racing in this division of NASCAR, Williams finally gets the big team upgrade that he's long-deserved. The 30-year-old Floridian takes the wheel of the No. 11 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet. This is the same car that Daniel Hemric piloted to 32 Top-10 finishes over the last two campaigns and nabbed a pair of Top-10 points finishes. Hemric has moved on to the Cup Series and leaves Williams to keep this team elevated. While he's had just one Top-15 season of his eight Xfinity Series campaigns, we have to put that in context. Williams has raced mainly for small, ill-equipped teams during his time. His 186 starts of experience have been a labor of love (of racing) and have prepared him for this jump. Kaulig and new crew chief, Kevin Walter, will give Williams all the tools he needs to succeed. A first-career win may be just out of reach, but many Top-10 finishes should be in store.

The veteran had a struggled filled 2022 season with multiple race teams. Williams started out last season with the No. 78 entry of B.J. McLeod Motorsports, but lack of performance and several DNQ's would put that team in the hole early last season. Williams would eventually move into a DGM entry in the latter third of the season and show some signs of life. He would earn one Top-15 and five Top-25 finishes in those final 10 events of last year. The outlook improved and DGM has decided to retain Williams to pilot the No. 92 Chevrolet for 2023. In a previous stint with this team in 2020, Williams earned six Top-10 finishes and wound up a respectable 15th-place in the driver points that season, so there's an abundance of optimism heading into the upcoming season.

After spending the last several seasons racing with owner Mario Gosselin, Williams moves to B.J. McLeod Motorsports for 2022. The Florida native has raced to eight Top-10 finishes in 126 Xfinity Series starts, and now has enough experience to be a valuable commodity with the smaller race teams in this division of NASCAR. The No. 78 Chevrolet is the flagship entry of BJMM and it featured a number of different drivers in 2021. The collective nabbed just two Top-10 finishes during last season. The hope is that with Williams behind the wheel for the full season, consistency and performance will improve. Williams will be paired with crew chief, Danny Johnson, and the two will look to form chemistry right away. This veteran driver has the ability to post a handful of Top-10 finishes in the upcoming season.

Williams was a pleasant surprise last season racing in his second full season of Xfinity Series action. He piloted the No. 92 DGM Chevrolet to six Top-10 finishes and a respectable 18.6 average finish for the 33-race campaign. Those were significant improvements over Williams' 2019 numbers. He has been confirmed as returning to the team's No. 92 Chevrolet in 2021. Williams is now fast-approaching 100 starts in this division of NASCAR. The experience gained and the knowledge acquired is showing results each weekend. DGM is growing their brand and improving their equipment, so Williams should continue to flourish. This driver and team are much in the same situation as Alex Labbe's team and will continue the slow ascent up the Xfinity Series rankings.

It's yet to be confirmed, but it's believed that Williams will be back at DGM Racing for his second full season in the Xfinity Series in 2020. The driver/team combo had a surprising 2019 season. Williams grabbed one Top-10 (Talladega) and seven Top-15 finishes throughout last year. For the 26-year-old driver it was the best of his four Xfinity Series campaigns to this point. While there are still some question marks surrounding this team and their plans for the upcoming season, there's also a lot of potential. The longtime ARCA Series veteran proved his worth in NASCAR's second division last season and that should be enough to draw some interest and sponsors to this small race team.

Signed in late January to pilot the DGM Racing No. 36 Chevrolet. Williams piloted the No. 90 car in 20 starts last season and came away with only one Top-20 finish and nine DNF's.
