Newman will not have a ride in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2022. He is still affiliated with Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing and is looking for an opportunity to race again in NASCAR. Newman has stated he will keep in shape and active during the season with some short track, grassroots racing.

RFR president Steve Newmark indicated that its deal with Brad Keselowski was reached in March and that talks of expanding to a three-car Cup Series operation soon followed.
