2025 Fantasy Outlook
Stewart Haas Racing closed their doors at the conclusion of 2024, but the new team born from that is the Haas Factory Team. They were a very competitive outfit last season with four combined wins and 38 combined Top-10 finishes between both Cole Custer and Riley Herbst. Those two drivers have moved onto the Cup Series and in comes Mayer to carry the baton. The 21-year-old prospect has spent the last two seasons stacking up seven victories and 32 Top-10 finishes with JR Motorsports. Mayer will now pair with crew chief, Jason Trinchere, and get a shot at contending for a championship in the No. 41 Ford (formerly the No. 98 Ford). This young driver has the ability to win on intermediate ovals, short tracks and road circuits and that makes Mayer a very dangerous competitor in terms of the championship picture. Suspended for finale
Mayer has been suspended for Saturday's Xfinity Series race at Phoenix after intentionally wrecking Jeb Burton following last week's race at Martinsville.
ANALYSIS
Haas Factory Team has announced that Ryan Sieg will pilot the No. 41 Ford for the season finale at Phoenix. It was not a good look for Mayer at Martinsville with both his actions and comments after the race. It's a learning moment for this young driver and he will hope to come out better in 2026 when he returns to Haas to drive the No. 41 again.

2021
Mayer was one of the big surprises of last season. The 20-year-old prospect would vault to four wins and 19 Top-10 finishes in just his second full season of Xfinity Series competition and thrust himself surprisingly into the championship picture. While he'd come up short of championship gold, Mayer would serve notice he's going to be around a while and be a factor. He returns to the JR Motorsports No. 1 team, which is returning mainly intact from last year. What will Mayer do for an encore? He could be one of the drivers poised to grow more than any other at the top tier of this division of NASCAR. He seemingly just scratched the surface in 2023 for what he could compile statistically. Don't be surprised if Mayer really breaks out in 2024 and upstages some of the drivers ahead of him in the pre-season rankings.
