Truck Start at Daytona
Craftsman Truck Series
January 20, 2026
BRUNT Workwear announces the return of motorsports icon and 11-time X Games gold medalist Pastrana to NASCAR. To mark BRUNT and Pastrana's second full year of partnership, Pastrana will race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opening Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway with BRUNT as his primary sponsor in the No. 42 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet.
ANALYSIS
This will be Pastrana's first truck series start since 2023. He finished a respectable 13th-place in that season-opener at Daytona. Pastrana also raced in that season's Daytona 500 in the Cup Series and fetched an equally impressive 11th-place for 23XI Racing. This journeyman driver has some superspeedway racing experience and skill. Pastrana could be a sleeper in the Fresh From Florida 250.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
2014
2008
Has not raced in NASCAR since 2020. Enters the 2022 season as a free agent driver.
Pastrana returned from semi-retirement from NASCAR and ran two truck series races in 2020. He piloted trucks for Niece Motorsports and collected 21st- and 22nd-place finishes on a pair of intermediate ovals. Pastrana has not announced any plans for 2021 at this time, but he may choose to do some more part-time racing for this team in the upcoming season.
Pastrana has left NASCAR as of the end of the 2013 season to pursue other racing and exploits away from stock car racing.
The former Motocross and X-Games champion will make the full-time dive into NASCAR this season after a couple seasons dabbling in the lower divisions of the sport. Pastrana made nine Nationwide Series starts last season, most with the No. 99 team. This year he’ll get a big upgrade in team and equipment. The strong No. 60 Roush Ford that Carl Edwards used to win so many races over the years will be his new destination. Pastrana will be paired with veteran crew chief Chad Norris and Boost Mobile will pick up the bills. While it’s still quite early in his stock car racing development, the situation will be a set up for success. Just how much depends on how quickly Pastrana learns the ropes.

His days as a full-time NASCAR driver may be now behind him but Pastrana loves the sport too much to walk away from it completely. His focus is turning back toward off-road trucks and rally cars, but he would still like to run a Camping World Truck Series race from time to time, NASCAR.com reports.
