PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

GOALKEEPER

Danijel Subasic, CRO v. TUR: Croatia have been a popular sleeper pick this year, and while a majority of their talent is in the midfield, they should have enough to keep Turkey relatively at bay, while giving Subasic a good shot at the win.

Wojciech Szczesny, POL v. NIR: Despite Germany having the highest win odds, Poland actually have the best odds for a clean sheet. Szczesny, who spent last season on loan at Roma, has never been the most reliable fantasy option, but the small savings from Manuel Neuer can help elsewhere.

DEFENDER

Darijo Srna, CRO v. TUR: Srna was a very popular pick during Champions League play thanks to his tremendous crossing numbers, and only two defenders finished with more crosses during qualifying. He also led all players at the position in fouls won (24) and co-led in assists (three).

Caner Erkin, TUR v. CRO: On the other side of the field is Erkin, who finished fourth among defender crosses during qualifying. The Croatian midfield is very strong, so Erkin may have to defend a bit more than usual, but if he can get into the attacking third, he should be sending in passes from the wing.

Vyacheslav Shevchuk, UKR v. GER: While his crossing numbers are decent, Shevchuk contributes across all categories, which certainly helps his floor if he's unable to get involved in the attack much. In fact, teammate Artem Fedetskiy (third in fouls drawn and second in tackles won during qualifying) falls into the same category, and they may be able to rack up the tackles if they can stay close with the Germans.

MIDFIELDER

Ivan Rakitic, CRO v. TUR: Rakitic's role at Barcelona doesn't lend itself to many fantasy points, but he's much more valuable in international play, especially since he takes most of Croatia's corners. In fact, no player took more corners during qualifying than Rakitic. With so much talent around him, he could easily pick up an assist and double-digit crosses.

Ivan Perisic, CRO v. TUR: Speaking of Rakitic's excellent teammates, Perisic is coming off a very solid season at Inter Milan, finishing with four goals in his last nine starts. He'll be a major part of the Croatia attack and is a solid option for fantasy players who want exposure there but don't want to rely on the low-floor Mario Mandzukic.

Hakan Calhanoglu, TUR v. CRO: Calhanoglu is one of the best free-kick takers in the world, and he'll be on all corners for Turkey. In fact, take a few minutes and enjoy for yourself:

This is expected to be the closest game of the day, and if it's an up-and-down affair thanks to two solid midfields, Calhanoglu should pay off easily despite the high price.

Oliver Norwood, NIR v. POL: Northern Ireland have the lowest win odds on the day, but that doesn't mean their devoid of fantasy value. While no one's ceiling is likely high enough to help win a GPP, Norwood provides a decent floor thanks to his crosses.

Toni Kroos, GER v. UKR: While Mesut Ozil is the better play-maker, Kroos is likely to be on all corners, a similar role to what he has at Real Madrid. Germany are the heaviest favorites on the day in the game expected to have the highest combined score, so getting exposure is a must.

Yevhen Konoplyanka, UKR v. GER: Going up against a German side many are predicting to win the tournament isn't the easiest task, but Konoplyanka is by far their best fantasy option from Ukraine, as he sends in a high number of crosses and drew more fouls than all other players in qualifying.

FORWARD

Robert Lewandowski, POL v. NIR: Lewandowski is one of the best goal-scorers in the world, and he is just as dominant with Poland as he is with Bayern Munich, as no player put more balls in the back of the net than he did during the qualifying stage. The price is obviously high, but no player on the slate has a higher upside.

Thomas Muller, GER v. UKR: Lewandowski's Bayern Munich teammate, Muller doesn't have the same goal-scoring upside, and while he crosses more, Lewandowski makes up for it by drawing fouls. The two took the same number of shots (40) during qualifying, but Lewandowski finished with more on target (22 to 14) and goals (13 to nine).

Kamil Grosicki, POR v. NIR: Fade Lewandowski at your own risk, but Grosicki is also a solid contributor thanks to his role on corners. With such an incredible finisher available to him, Grosicki could certainly pick up an assist after finishing with the ninth-most crosses during qualifying.
