Aaron Hickey Injury: Dealing with knee injury
Hickey was a doubt for Thursday's 3-1 win against Greece after picking up a small knock to his knee but ultimately started and played 58 minutes before being forced off with an injury, coach Steve Clarke said in a press conference, according to Lewis Anderson from Edinburgh News. "He's just tweaked his knee. Aaron was actually a doubt to start the game after picking up a small knock to his knee and I think he's just aggravated it. I don't know for sure yet, but that was the reason I called Max (Johnston) into the squad as cover."
Hickey picked up a small knock to his knee ahead of the clash against Greece while on international duty with Scotland and ultimately started and played almost one hour in the victory. That said, the Brentford defender was forced off injured and appeared to have aggravated the same knee issue, which is bad news for the Bees since he started the last two games at left-back. Hickey will likely be assessed in the coming days upon his return, and if the injury proves serious, Keane Lewis-Potter is expected to regain a starting spot in the backline until Hickey fully recovers.
