2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hickey missed almost two full seasons with a hamstring injury but returned to the bench for the 2024/25 season finale, and he'll have a full preseason to get back to match speed. Prior to his injury, Hickey was considered one of the more promising full-backs in the Premier League. He has the ability to play on the right or left, both as a wing-back or traditional full-back. Getting back to that consistent starting role is the big question for him entering the new season. If he can win the job, he'll immediately have fantasy value as an attacking full-back.

Trains, late call for Monday
Hickey (knee) was back on grass Friday and is a late call for Monday's match against West Ham, according to manager Keith Andrews. "Aaron got a bit of a knock in Scotland's first game of the international break, and he missed the second match, but he's been back on the grass today."
ANALYSIS
Hickey was dealing with some knee issues over the break while with Scotland after he was forced off in the match, but appears to already be overcoming his injury, with his substitution from the match appearing to be a cautious move for the defender. That said, he is now training on grass again and will work towards being an option for Monday. He hopes to pass testing and be an option for the club, especially after starting in their past two outings, with Keane Lewis-Potter as a possible replacement.

Dealing with knee injury
Hickey was a doubt for Thursday's 3-1 win against Greece after picking up a small knock to his knee but ultimately started and played 58 minutes before being forced off with an injury, coach Steve Clarke said in a press conference, according to Lewis Anderson from Edinburgh News. "He's just tweaked his knee. Aaron was actually a doubt to start the game after picking up a small knock to his knee and I think he's just aggravated it. I don't know for sure yet, but that was the reason I called Max (Johnston) into the squad as cover."
