Thiago joined Brentford last summer but made just eight appearances due to a serious injury and an infection after surgery. Despite that awful start to life in England, he now steps into the Brentford team with a surprising opportunity for a large role in the attack. Before joining Brentford, he scored 18 goals with Club Brugge and he's expected to shoulder a significant load for the Bees now that he's fit. The thought is that if fit, there will be minutes for him given the player movement that Brentford has had. Yet, with a new manager and minimal time in the Premier League, he's an extremely boom-or-bust forward.

Thiago is a late call for Thursday's match against Tottenham due to a knock, according to manager Keith Andrews. "Thiago had a bit of an issue, but nothing to do with his injury last season at all. Again, this time of year, naturally, you pick up little bits and bobs. The games are coming quite frequently. We're still a couple of days out, so we'll see how everyone is tomorrow and make decisions about the team."
