Samardzic had two off-target shots, created two chances, sent in five crosses (one accurate) and was shown a yellow card during Wednesday's 1-0 Champions League loss against Union SG.

Samardzic was one of the few Atalanta players who consistently tried to push the game forward, drifting into advanced pockets to fire from distance and supply service even as the attack stalled. The playmaker will hope this performance leads to more consistent playing time during upcoming games as he rarely plays more than 20 minutes when he takes the pitch and was an unused sub in each of the last two league games.
