Benteke is coming off a phenomenal season, one where he led MLS in goals with 23 across 30 appearances. He also provided five assists, four of which came in the final 11 matches. He had a consistent season as he didn't go for more than three consecutive matches without scoring a goal. It was a vast improvement on his first full MLS season in 2023 when he scored 14 goals across 31 starts. Despite taking more shots during the 2023 campaign, 107 compared to 94 in 2024, Benteke was far more efficient with his chances in 2024 and appears to have settled into the league very well. With much of D.C. United's attack returning, Benteke will be a contender to lead MLS in goals again in 2025.
