Jota will miss the World Cup with a "pretty serious" calf injury, according to manager Jurgen Klopp. "It's really not good news about Diogo. Yes, he will miss the World Cup. [It's a] pretty serious injury in the calf muscle and now the recovery process starts."
ANALYSIS
This is a massive blow for Jota, who won't need surgery on the injury despite it being a bad calf injury. He's dealt with a variety of injuries the past couple years and this adds to the list at the worst time for him. With Luis Diaz also sidelined for Liverpool, they are once again down to a few guys to use up front with youngster Fabio Carvalho possibly set for more time in the coming weeks.
