Hirving Lozano
30-Year-Old
San Diego FC
MLS
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Lozano was the biggest name signing for San Diego heading into their first MLS campaign, coming over from Champions League-regulars PSV. The left winger has the potential to immediately be one of the best players in MLS, but he likely won't have the supporting cast to really pop on the scoresheet. Marcus Ingvartsen appears set to lead the line, and while he's a competent finisher, Lozano will have to carry more of the weight as a creator and finisher in this side. Lozano's upside is unquestionable, but with any expansion team, there are uncertainties around what San Diego will look like in 2025.
On bench to face Minnesota
Lozano (undisclosed) is on the bench for Monday's matchup versus Minnesota United.
ANALYSIS
Lozano suffered a minor knock while on international duty with Mexico, yet he's still considered as a backup option for the third MLS game in a row. He'll likely see minutes in the second half as he did in the previous couple of playoff contests, scoring one goal and an assist over that span. Striker Corey Baird is getting the nod in Lozano's place, with Amahl Pellegrino expected to remain on the left wing.
