Joins Kocaelispor on loan
Smolcic has joined Kocaelispor on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt for the 2025/26 season, with a purchase option included, his parent club announced.
ANALYSIS
Smolcic joined Frankfurt in the summer of 2022 from Croatian side HNK Rijeka, signing a contract until 2027 and making 32 appearances with two goals across the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Austrian club LASK, where he played 33 matches in league, cup and European competition, contributing three goals and one assist. The Croatian defender has now joined Kocaelispor, who returned to the Turkish top flight in May after 16 years.
