2025 Fantasy Outlook
Cardoso made the summer move to Atletico after a bit of a breakthrough at Betis last season where he made 24 starts as a defensive midfielder. It's a massive step up for the soon-to-be 24-year-old, and he'll undoubtedly face more competition for minutes in the loaded Atletico midfield. Throw in a deep midfield with an already lack of upside, most of Cardoso's fantasy value will come from defensive stats. If he's not guaranteed 90 minutes most games, he'll struggle to be relevant.
Injured early
Cardoso was forced off with an apparent injury during the first half of Tuesday's clash with Barcelona.
ANALYSIS
Cardoso was brought off injured during the first half of Tuesday's match. The midfielder was replaced by Koke after just 14 minutes. Cardoso has had a few injury struggles this season, and this is another concern. Cardoso will have limited time to try and get fit before a Saturday trip to Athletic Club.
