Acosta had a solid first season in Chicago, as he recorded five goal contributions in 34 appearances after recording zero in 2023 with Los Angeles FC. It was a decent haul given his primary responsibility is on the defensive end where he also contributed well. However, he was only able to keep one clean sheet in 2024, in part due to Chicago's overall struggles on the defensive end, but also because Acosta only played the full 90 minutes nine times. His moderate production on both ends of the pitch gives him a fairly low ceiling for the 2025 season.
