2025 Fantasy Outlook
Petretta moved around Toronto's formation this past season, closing 2024 as a center-back but also featuring as a wing-back and even central midfielder. That versatility unfortunately led to 14 starts at center-back, which limited his attacking output en route to just four goal involvements, 12 shots, 13 chances created and 16 crosses in 27 appearances. Petretta makes up for it with a solid defensive floor from tackles and clearances, but playing for Toronto limits his upside as one of the worst teams at keeping clean sheets. Petretta is likely nothing more than a streaming option for fantasy managers in the new campaign unless the new manager moves him to a full-back position once again.

In starting XI Saturday
Petretta (head) has been included in the initial lineup for Saturday's meeting with Philadelphia Union.
ANALYSIS
Petretta is making his first MLS appearance since July 16 and 18th of the season after overcoming a head issue. He'll likely feature on the left flank of a four-man defense, pushing Richie Laryea to the opposite side and Kobe Franklin to a bench role. During the current campaign, Petretta has racked up five clean sheets while averaging 3.1 clearances and 1.9 tackles per game.
