The Courage have announced the departure of Kobayashi (knee) by mutual consent on Thursday. "We thank Rikako for her time here with the club. Unfortunately, due to injury, she wasn't able to see time here in the league. We wish her the best of luck and hope she can get back to doing what she loves most. And that's playing football," said Courage head coach Sean Nahas.

ANALYSIS
Kobayashi was initially signed in July of 2023 to a contract through the 2024 season, but she didn't play a single minute for the Courage due to injuries. His departure doesn't impact the Courage's active roster since she was on the season-ending injury list.
