The 2023 All-XFL back has endured a difficult season after missing all of 2024 due to a torn ACL, but Sunday brought a rare dose of good news for Smith. His six-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, which also served as his longest run of the day, was his first trip to the end zone of the campaign. Despite Sunday's fleeting success, Smith now seems to be a clear No. 2 on the depth chart behind Deon Jackson, as he has just 20 combined carries over the last four games after logging 65 in the first four contests of the season. Smith figures to see a relatively limited workload again in a Week 9 road matchup against the Roughnecks next Sunday afternoon.
