Allen broke out in 2021, posting career highs in points (9.2), rebounds (3.7), steals (1.6) and blocks (1.0). She struggled to match that production last year and scored in double figures just once over her last 17 appearances with the Liberty. The 31-year-old suffered broken ribs and a partially-collapsed lung while playing for Australia during the World Cup last October, and her status for the start of 2023 remains unclear. Despite her rehab status, she was part of the package sent to Connecticut in the three-team deal that landed Jonquel Jones in New York. Assuming she's available,, Allen figures to slide into a backup role behind Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner, but her defensive prowess makes her a likely candidate to be a key rotational player when healthy. However, she's posted only one top-50 fantasy performance in her seven-year career, making her a high-risk, high-reward option.

Allen averaged 9.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks in 24.2 minutes per game – all career highs – during the 2021 campaign and opted to sign a two-year deal with New York this offseason. After four relatively quiet seasons with the Liberty, the 30-year-old has seen an increased role in each of the last two campaigns and has proven to be a solid three-point shooter with excellent defensive instincts. She'll compete with second-year forward Michaela Onyenwere and recently acquired Stefanie Dolson for the final spot in New York's starting lineup, but either way, all three players figure to be key pieces of the Liberty's rotational depth during the 2022 campaign.
