After two seasons in Los Angeles, Talbot was selected by the Valkyries during the WNBA Expansion Draft this offseason. She's never averaged more than 18 minutes per game across her six-year WNBA career, but the 30-year-old has a clear path to a consistent starting role in a frontcourt featuring Kayla Thornton, Monique Billings and Temi Fagbenle. Known as a sharpshooter, Talbot shot a career-low 26.0 percent from deep on 1.4 three-point attempts per game last season, her first WNBA action since tearing her ACL while playing overseas ahead of the 2023 campaign. Despite the poor shooting numbers in 2024, Talbot still holds a 36.6 percent mark from three in her career and could be a fantasy contributor if she earns a 25-plus-minute role for the WNBA's newest team, which will likely be led statistically by Tiffany Hayes and Julie Vanloo. She's up to six starts in 2025, although she's averaged just 3.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 20.7 minutes per game with the first unit. Talbot is also shooting just 31.8 percent from the floor as a starter, so she may not have a strong hold on her role.

Talbot signed a two-year contract with the Sparks ahead of the 2023 season but didn't make her team debut last year since she sustained a torn ACL while playing overseas. However, she returned to action in Australia this winter and should be ready to play in the WNBA in 2024. Talbot has operated primarily as a bench option over her last four seasons in the WNBA, and she averaged 5.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per game over 34 appearances (one start) with Seattle in 2022. The Sparks have a major hole in the frontcourt after losing Nneka Ogwumike via free agency during the offseason. However, the team has two of the top four picks in this year's draft and is widely expected to select center Cameron Brink at No. 2 overall, especially if Caitlin Clark is available for the Fever at No. 1. Talbot should compete for consistent playing time, but she's had more value as a streaming candidate than as a season-long option over her first five seasons in the WNBA.
