2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hayes announced her retirement after the 2023 campaign following a career that included 10 seasons in Atlanta and one in Connecticut. However, she ended her retirement in late May to join a contender in the Aces, and she was rewarded with Sixth Player of the Year honors after averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 21.5 minutes per game while coming off the bench in 28 of 33 regular-season appearances. The 35-year-old plans to continue her career in 2025, as she signed with the Valkyries during the offseason, and she'll provide a veteran presence in the backcourt alongside several teammates without much WNBA experience. It wouldn't be surprising if Hayes reclaims a role that sees her operate mainly as a starter in 2025, and she'll likely have ample opportunities to generate fantasy production while playing with some unproven WNBA players. Won't play Friday
Hayes (leg) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Sky, Nathan Canilao of Bay Area News Group reports.
ANALYSIS
After starting the last 14 games, Hayes will be sidelined for the first time since June 14. Cecilia Zandalasini (foot) has also been ruled out, which means the team will likely lean on Carla Leite, Kate Martin and Kaitlyn Chen to shoulder the load in the backcourt.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
After spending the last decade in Atlanta, Hayes was shipped to Connecticut in February for the No. 6 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft. Her presence fills the void created by the losses of Jasmine Thomas to the Sparks and Courtney Williams to the Sky, so Hayes should have a meaningful role in the Sun's backcourt. In her age-33 season last year, Hayes averaged 16.2 points on an efficient 55/43/68 shooting, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists. Fantasy managers should be able to draft her with relative confidence. She may even be a draft-day bargain if her her steals (0.7) production and free-throw percentage bounce back.
